Returning home from an overseas deployment can be difficult in many ways. Integrating back into everyday civilian life can be a struggle for disabled contractors without the support of an entire community.
Private Patriots seeks to create a connected community of disabled military contractors and their families by:
Hosting peer gatherings of military contractors and their families,
Creating The New Guard blog where military contractors and their loved ones can share their experiences to raise awareness of key issues,
Disseminating information about the laws, statutes and regulations that affect military contractors,
Providing resources, periodicals, and materials that help disabled military contractors deal with injuries, financial difficulties and personal relationships in post-deployment life,
Providing specialized resources for contractors detained or imprisoned overseas, and
Nominating deserving candidates for awards and medals that recognize valor amongst contractors who were injured during combat.
